A Different Approach to Personalized Foot Support

ApedX Labs adaptive orthotics provide healthcare professionals with a different approach to personalized foot support for patients. Rather than selecting a predetermined arch height, ApedX orthotics adapt to the patient’s feet and can be initially positioned in a neutral position or allowed to adapt naturally during wear.

  • Neutral Position – Practitioner-directed initial positioning
  • Natural Adaptive Position – Foot-directed positioning during wear

Neutral Arch Position: To set the ApedX orthotic in a neutral position, immediately after kneading, sit in a chair with the shoes on and apply only slight pressure through the feet. This allows the adaptive arch area to form with minimal weight-bearing. Remove the shoes and set them aside while the supports firm (approximately 2 hours).

Natural Adaptive Position: For a natural adaptive fit, begin wearing the orthotics immediately after kneading. The soft, pliable arch area responds to the feet during normal weight-bearing and movement, gradually forming and firming beneath the arches. Firming begins in approximately 30 minutes and reaches approximately 80% in about one hour.

Trimming: ApedX orthotics are full-length inserts designed to replace the original shoe insoles. Remove the original insoles, align their arch and heel areas with the ApedX orthotics, and use the original insoles as templates to trim the ApedX orthotics to fit the shoes.

Self-Firm: The Self-Firm process is activated by releasing the internal components within the arch area and kneading as directed. The adaptive arch area then gradually firms to a flexible, supportive consistency while retaining enough responsiveness to support the natural movement of the foot.
