Trimming: The arch supports are full insole inserts intended to replace the original shoe insole. Trimming is done by removing the original shoe insole, alignment of arch areas of the original insole to the ApedX support, and using scissors to trim and match the original insole.

Self-Firm: The Self-Firm feature is activated by popping an internal container in the arch area releasing a curing agent and kneading the arch area causing the arch area to firm to a soft rubbery consistency over the span of about one hour.

Natural Arch Position: Use immediately after kneading allowing the soft and pliable arch area to “massage and stretch” ligaments on the bottom of the foot. Firming starts in approximately 30 minutes, and to 80% in about two hours. While the supports begin to cure and firm, they will form to arches and shoes.

Neutral Arch Position: To set up the arch supports in a neutral position, immediately after kneading, sit in a chair with shoes on applying a very slight pressure to feet to form the arch support (versus applying full body weight). Remove shoes and set aside until supports are firmed (mostly firmed within ~2 hours, fully firm within 24 hours).

Break-in Period: The ApedX Custom-Fit Self-Firm Arch Supports typically takes a couple of days for the internal foam to fully compress. During this period, a distinct foot imprint forms on the arch support, ensuring that the feet are securely cradled in position. As the foam compresses, additional elevation is gradually provided to the foot arch area, thereby completing the arch support process. This incremental adjustment facilitates the adaptation of both the feet and the body, minimizing discomfort that might otherwise result from an immediate, full-height arch modification.

Note: When first starting with arch supports, it’s common to feel some mild discomfort in the feet and or legs for the first few days as the feet and body adapt to the mechanical changes occurring from arch supports. This is a normal process. If discomfort is initially experienced, wear the supports a couple hours a day gradually increasing the wear time until it becomes full time.
